Data Synchronization and Versioning
Last updated August 25, 2024
LucidLink offers powerful features for data synchronization and versioning, ensuring that your files are consistently up-to-date across multiple devices and providing a history of changes made to your files.
Data Synchronization
LucidLink's data synchronization functionality automatically keeps your files in sync across all your connected devices. This means that whenever you make changes to a file on one device, the changes are automatically reflected on all other connected devices.
Here's how data synchronization works:
- Real-Time Updates: Changes made to files are pushed to the LucidLink server in real-time, ensuring that all connected devices are updated as soon as possible.
- Conflict Resolution: If multiple users make changes to the same file simultaneously, LucidLink handles conflict resolution to maintain data integrity.
- Selective Synchronization: You can choose which Folders or Filespaces you want to synchronize to specific devices, allowing you to control which data is synchronized.
File Versioning
LucidLink's versioning feature automatically saves previous versions of your files, giving you a historical record of changes and the ability to revert to earlier versions of a file if needed.
Here's how versioning works:
- Automatic Versioning: Every time a file is saved, a new version of the file is created and stored. This ensures you have a detailed history of changes.
- Version History: You can easily access and review the history of changes made to a file by accessing the file's properties in the LucidLink client.
- Reverting to Earlier Versions: You can revert to previous versions of a file if necessary, making it easy to restore an earlier version of a file or recover from accidental edits.
Enabling Synchronization and Versioning
To enable data synchronization and versioning for your Filespaces:
- Navigate to Filespace Settings: Go to the Filespace settings within your LucidLink dashboard.
- Enable Features: Enable the "Synchronization" and "Versioning" options as needed.
- Configure Settings: You may be able to configure specific settings for synchronization and versioning, such as the frequency of synchronization or the maximum number of versions to keep for each file.
