Using the Midjourney Bot
Last updated September 9, 2024
The Midjourney bot is your gateway to creating AI-generated art. It’s easy to use, and with a little practice, you'll be able to generate stunning images with your own custom prompts.
Getting Started with the Bot
- Join the Right Channel: Head over to the #newbies channel on the Midjourney Discord server. This is the designated channel for beginners to learn the ropes and avoid disrupting other user's prompts.
- Type `/imagine`: In the #newbies channel, type `/imagine` followed by your prompt. For example: `/imagine a portrait of a cat in a starry night sky`.
- Wait for Your Image: The bot will start working on your request, and you'll see a series of numbered squares appear in the chat.
- View Images in Different Resolutions: As the images are generated, clicking on the numbered squares will open a larger view.
- Upscale Your Favourites: Once the initial images are ready, you can click on the "U" button to upscale your favorite image to a higher resolution.
- Experiment with Parameters: You can add parameters to your prompts to influence the style, aspect ratio, and other aspects of your image. For example, `/imagine a futuristic cityscape --ar 16:9 --style cyberpunk`. You can find a list of parameters in the `#parameters` channel on the Discord server.
