Collaboration is at the heart of a successful knowledge base. This article walks you through how to leave comments, engage in discussions, and use @mentions to effectively communicate and contribute to your Slab workspace.
Leaving Comments
1. **Locate the Comment Section:** When viewing a note, wiki, or documentation, look for the "Comments" section at the bottom of the page.
2. **Add a Comment:** Click the "Add Comment" field, and type your comment. You can format your comment using basic text formatting options like bold, italic, and links.
3. **Reply to Threads:** When someone else comments on a note, you can reply to their comment to continue the conversation.
4. **Resolve Comments:** Once a discussion is complete, and the comment is no longer relevant, you can click the "Resolve" button to mark it as resolved. This helps keep your comments organized and allows you to focus on active discussions.
Utilizing @Mentions
- Mentioning Team Members: You can mention a specific team member to bring their attention to a comment or section of content. Type "@" and then start typing the team member's name.
- Purpose of @mentions: This not only notifies the mentioned person but also creates a direct link to their user profile, making it easy to follow up or tag them in future discussions.
Engaging in Discussions
- Ask Questions: When you have a question or need clarification, leave a comment directly on the relevant section of the content.
- Provide Feedback: Share your thoughts and insights on the content by leaving comments. This helps create a collaborative environment where everyone can contribute.
