AfterShoot is designed to seamlessly integrate with your camera and external storage devices, allowing you to transfer images directly into the platform for efficient workflow management. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for connecting your equipment and ensuring a smooth workflow.

Connecting Your Camera

  • USB Connection: Connect your camera to your computer using a USB cable. Ensure that your camera is turned on and set to "Mass Storage" or "PTP" mode for file transfer.
  • AfterShoot Detection: AfterShoot will automatically detect your camera and display its available drives and folders.
  • Selecting Files: Browse through your camera's memory cards and select the images you want to import into AfterShoot. You have the option to import all images or select specific folders or files.
  • Importing Images: Click on the "Import" button to start transferring images from your camera to the AfterShoot project folder. AfterShoot will efficiently handle the transfer process, ensuring your images are seamlessly integrated into the platform.

Connecting External Storage

  • Supported Devices: AfterShoot supports various external storage devices, including hard drives, memory cards, and USB drives. Make sure your storage device is connected to your computer and properly formatted.
  • File Browser: AfterShoot will display the connected storage device within its file browser. You can navigate through folders and select the images you want to import.
  • Importing Files: Similar to importing from a camera, select the desired images or folders and click on the "Import" button to begin the transfer process. AfterShoot will move the selected files to your project folder within the platform.
  • Important Tips:
  • Ensure that your camera or storage device is properly formatted with a supported file system (e.g., FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS).
  • Check that your computer has sufficient storage space to accommodate the imported images.
  • After importing your images, you can manage their organization within AfterShoot, including renaming, adding keywords, and applying metadata.

**By connecting your camera and external storage to AfterShoot, you can streamline your image handling process, ensuring easy access to your photos for culling, editing, and delivery. The platform's intuitive interface and efficient transfer capabilities make managing your images a breeze.**
