Creating Your First Project and Tasks

Welcome to Shortcut! Shortcut is a powerful project management tool designed to help you and your team stay organized, track progress, and achieve your goals efficiently. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to create your first project and tasks within the Shortcut platform.

Step 1: Log in to Your Shortcut Account

  • Open your web browser and go to  Shortcut .
  • Enter your login credentials and click on the "Sign In" button.

Step 2: Navigate to the Projects Section

  • Once logged in, locate the sidebar on the left-hand side.
  • Click on the "Projects" tab to access the project management interface.

Step 3: Create a New Project

  • Click on the "New Project" button, usually found at the top right of the Projects section.
  • Enter a name for your project in the "Project Name" field.
  • Optionally, add a description to provide more context for your team.
  • Choose a project type, if applicable, and assign it to the relevant team or individual.
  • Click "Create Project" to save your new project.

Step 4: Add Tasks to Your Project

  • With your project created, navigate to the "Tasks" tab within your project.
  • Click on the "New Task" button to start adding tasks to your project.
  • Enter a task name in the "Task Name" field and provide a brief description.
  • Assign the task to a team member by selecting their name from the dropdown menu.
  • Set a due date and priority level to ensure timely completion.
  • Click "Create Task" to save your task.

Step 5: Organize and Manage Your Tasks

  • You can drag and drop tasks to reorder them within your project.
  • Use labels and tags to categorize tasks for easier filtering and searching.
  • Monitor the progress of tasks by updating their status as work progresses.

Step 6: Collaborate and Track Progress

  • Use the comment section within each task to communicate with your team.
  • Track the overall progress of your project by viewing the project dashboard.
  • Make adjustments as needed to ensure your project stays on track.
