Connecting Rootly to PagerDuty

Setting Up the Integration
- Navigate to the Integrations section: From the Rootly dashboard, click on the "Integrations" tab within the navigation bar.

- Authorize Rootly: Click the "Authorize" button to grant Rootly access to your PagerDuty account.

- Configure notification settings: Decide how you want Rootly alerts to be translated into PagerDuty incidents:
- Incident severity: Map Rootly alert severity levels (e.g., warning, error, critical) to PagerDuty incident severity levels.
- Incident details: Configure which Rootly alert information (e.g., monitor name, alert message, timestamp) is included in the PagerDuty incident description.
- Save the integration: Once you have configured the settings, save the integration to activate the connection.
Using the Integration
- Alerts routed to PagerDuty: When a Rootly alert is triggered, it will automatically create a new incident in your configured PagerDuty service.
- PagerDuty incident details: PagerDuty incidents will contain information from the corresponding Rootly alert, including details about the monitor, the issue, and relevant metrics.
- Incident escalation: PagerDuty will automatically follow its defined escalation rules, notifying the appropriate on-call teams and individuals.
- Incident management: Use PagerDuty's interface to manage incidents, track their progress, and collaborate with your team.
