Working with Tables & Spreadsheets

Craft Docs allows you to create and edit tables directly within your documents, making it easy to organize and present data in a clear and structured way. Whether you need to display product information, compare features, or create a simple spreadsheet, Craft Docs provides the tools you need.

Creating a Table

  • Insert Table:
  • Click on the "Insert Table" button (often represented by a table icon) in the formatting toolbar.
  • Choose the number of columns and rows you need.
  • Add Content:
  • Type directly into the table cells to add your data.
  • Formatting Cells:
  • Select a cell or multiple cells to apply formatting options.
  • You can change the font, size, color, background color, and alignment of the text within the cells.

Editing a Table

  • Adding or Removing Rows or Columns:
  • Hover your mouse over the table's border. You'll see "+" icons representing where you can add new rows or columns.
  • To remove rows or columns, hover your mouse over the border where you want to delete and click the "x" icon.
  • Merging or Splitting Cells:
  • Merging Cells: Select multiple cells, then click the "Merge Cells" button in the table editing toolbar.
  • Splitting Cells: Right-click on a cell and select "Split Cell" to break it into smaller cells.
  • Adding and Editing Data:
  • Simply click into any cell to edit or add data.
  • You can also copy and paste data from other sources into the table.
  • Table Sorting:
  • Craft Docs may offer sorting capabilities. Click on the column header to sort the data in ascending or descending order.

Advanced Features (May Vary Based on Craft Docs Features)

  • Data Validation: Set restrictions or rules for the type of data that can be entered into specific cells.
  • Formulas: Use basic formulas like SUM, AVERAGE, or COUNT to calculate data within your table.
  • Chart Integration: Craft Docs may allow you to create charts based on the data in your tables.
  • Conditional Formatting: Highlight cells based on certain criteria using conditional formatting rules.
  • Table Styles: Apply different table styles (borders, colors, etc.) to customize the look and feel of your tables.

By leveraging Craft Docs' table functionality, you can create organized and informative tables, spreadsheets, or even simple database-like structures within your documents.
