Craft Docs offers a range of text formatting options to help you create professional-looking documents with clear and engaging content. This guide will explore the essential text formatting tools available in Craft Docs.

Using the Formatting Toolbar

  • Headings: Use headings to structure your document and make it easier to read. Craft Docs provides different Heading levels (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to denote the importance of each section.
  • To apply a heading: Select the text you want to format as a heading. Then, click the appropriate heading button (H1, H2, or H3) in the formatting toolbar.
  • Bold & Italic: Emphasize key words or phrases using bold ( or Ctrl+B) and italic ( * * or Ctrl+I) styles. You can also combine bold and italic.
  • Lists: Create bullet points or numbered lists to make your documents more organized and visually appealing.
  • Unordered (Bullet) Lists: Start a list item with a hyphen (-) or an asterisk (*).
  • Ordered (Numbered) Lists: Start a list item with a number followed by a period (.)
  • Links: Insert hyperlinks to websites, documents, or other resources.
  • Select the Text: Select the text you want to turn into a link.
  • Click the Link Button: Click the link button (often represented by a chain icon) in the formatting toolbar.
  • Enter the URL: Paste the web address (URL) you want to link to.
  • Block Quotes: Use block quotes to highlight a passage of text or a quote.
  • Select the Text: Select the text you want to put in a block quote.
  • Apply Block Quote Formatting:
  • Shortcut: Use the block quote button (often represented by a double quote symbol) in the formatting toolbar.
  • Markdown: Place ">" before the line of text you want to quote.
  • Code Blocks: Display code snippets in a visually distinct format.
