The Lobby offers a vibrant community of groups where you can connect with like-minded individuals, share your expertise, and engage in conversations about shared interests. This guide explains how to participate in groups and make the most of this valuable resource.

  Explore the "Groups" section on The Lobby's website or use the search bar to find groups relevant to your interests.

  View details about the group, including its description, members, and recent discussions.

  If you're interested in joining the group, click on the "Join Group" button.

  Once you join a group, you'll receive notifications about new discussions, events, and other activities.

  Explore the group's discussions to understand the topics being discussed and join the conversation.

  If you have a question or topic you'd like to share, click on the "Start a Discussion" button. 

  Engage with existing discussions by replying to messages, sharing your insights, or asking questions. 

  Ensure that you treat other members with respect and follow the established community guidelines.

  Access the "My Groups" section in your The Lobby account to view the groups you've joined.

  If you're no longer interested in participating in a group, you can leave the group from your "My Groups" page.

  You can manage your group notifications, selecting how frequently you want to receive updates.

  Many groups organize events, making it easier to connect with other members in person.

Group and Community Participation

Building meaningful connections is at the core of The Lobby's purpose. This guide explains how to connect with other members, expand your network, and foster valuable relationships.

Find the member you want to connect with:

  Browse the The Lobby directory, search for specific members, or discover connections through groups and events.

  Click on the member's profile to see their information, interests, and activities. 

 If you want to connect with the member, click on the "Connect" button on their profile page.

 You can optionally add a personalized message to your connection request, introducing yourself and expressing your interest in connecting.

  The Lobby will notify you about incoming connection requests. 

  Check the requesting member's profile to learn more about them and whether you'd like to connect.

 You have the option to accept or decline the connection request. 

 Browse through profiles of other members to find individuals aligned with your professional or personal interests.

  Connect with members who share similar interests by joining groups or attending events. 

  Initiate conversations with other members through messages, comments, or discussions within groups.

 The Lobby hosts or features networking events, providing opportunities to connect with members face-to-face. 

  Contribute to discussions, share your insights, and offer your knowledge to build relationships and engage with others.

Connecting with Other Members

The Lobby's messaging feature allows you to communicate directly with other members, connecting with ease and fostering meaningful conversations. This guide explains how to use the messaging feature to stay connected.

  Click on the messaging icon or "Inbox" in your The Lobby account. 

 Click on the "Compose Message" button to start a new message.

  Search for the member you want to message by their name or username.

 Craft a clear and concise message, ensuring you're respectful and professional.

  Click on the "Send" button to send your message to the recipient.

  Your inbox displays a list of active conversations with other members.

 Click on a message to open the conversation and reply with your message.

 When you open a message, it will automatically be marked as “read.”

  For conversations you've finished, archive them to keep your inbox organized. 

  Permanently delete messages if needed. 

  Avoid sending lengthy or rambling messages.

  Project professionalism through well-written messages.

  Treat others with respect and kindness.

  Stay on top of incoming messages and respond promptly.

  Focus on building meaningful connections.
