Task Management and Labels

Last updated October 10, 2023

Puzzle's task management features are designed to help you keep track of your to-dos, assignments, and projects. Labels provide a flexible way to classify and group tasks, making it easier to focus on what matters most. Let's dive into the world of task management and labels.

Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to effectively manage your tasks and use labels in Puzzle:

  1. Access Your Board: Start by logging in to your Puzzle account and accessing the board where your tasks are located. Click on the board to enter its workspace.
  2. View Your Tasks: Within your board, you'll see a list of tasks. Each task is represented by a card with its title and details.
  3. Create a Task: To add a new task, click the "Add Task" button or card within your board. Give the task a name, description, and any relevant details.
  4. Set Due Dates: Assign due dates to your tasks by clicking on the task card and selecting the due date field. Choose the appropriate date and time.
  5. Assign Tasks: If you're working in a team, assign tasks to team members by selecting their names from the "Assignee" field on the task card.
  6. Use Labels: Labels are a powerful way to categorize tasks. To create a label, click the "Add Label" button and give it a name (e.g., "Urgent," "Marketing," "Design").
  7. Apply Labels: Assign labels to tasks by selecting them from the task card. You can assign multiple labels to a single task to categorize it effectively.
  8. Filter by Labels: Use the label filter to view tasks that belong to specific categories. This allows you to focus on tasks related to a particular label or topic.
  9. Prioritize Tasks: Drag and drop tasks to arrange them in order of priority within a list. This visual representation helps you see which tasks need attention first.
  10. Search by Labels: Use the search bar to find tasks with specific labels. Simply type the label name in the search bar, and Puzzle will display relevant tasks.
  11. Edit and Update: You can edit task details, due dates, and labels at any time by clicking on the task card and making the necessary changes.
  12. Track Progress: Keep an eye on task progress using labels to indicate status (e.g., "In Progress," "Completed"). Update labels as tasks move through different stages.

Conclusion

Effective task management and the use of labels are key to staying organized and productive with Puzzle. By categorizing and prioritizing your tasks, you can focus your efforts on what matters most and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
