Using Parameters

Last updated September 9, 2024

Parameters are powerful tools that allow you to fine-tune your Midjourney prompts, giving you more control over the final image. By adding parameters, you can specify aspects like aspect ratio, style, resolution, and more.

Using Parameters in Your Prompts

  • Aspect Ratio: Change the shape of your image with parameters like `--ar 16:9` (landscape), `--ar 9:16` (portrait), `--ar 1:1` (square).
  • Style: Influence the style of your image with parameters like `--style photorealistic`, `--style fantasy`, `--style anime`, `--style cyberpunk`, etc.
  • Quality: Generate images at different levels of resolution. Use `--quality normal`, `--quality high` or `--quality rough` to experiment with different image qualities.
  • Other Parameters: Experiment with other parameters like `--seed` (to set a specific random seed for your image), `--zoom` (to zoom in on a specific part of the image), `--no` (to exclude certain elements), etc.
  • Parameter Guide: You can find a comprehensive list of parameters and their explanations in the `#parameters` channel on the Midjourney Discord server.
