Creating Your First Document
Last updated August 9, 2024
Craft Docs offers a simple and intuitive way to create and manage your documents. Whether you're writing a blog post, crafting a project proposal, or collaborating on a team document, Craft Docs provides the tools you need to get started.
Let's walk through the process of creating your very first document:
Getting Started
- Log in or Sign up: If you haven't already, create a free Craft Docs account. Navigate to the website (http://www.craft.do/) and click "Sign Up" or "Log In".
- Create a Workspace: Once logged in, you'll be prompted to create a Workspace. A Workspace is like a container for your documents, allowing you to organize your work by projects or teams. Give your workspace a descriptive name that reflects its purpose.
- Create Your Document: In your workspace, click the "New Document" button to create a new empty document. Give your document a relevant title.
Writing and Formatting
- Start Writing: Begin typing your content in the document editor. You can format text using the formatting toolbar which includes options for headings, bold, italic, lists, and more.
- Add Images & Videos: Enrich your documents with visual elements by dragging and dropping images or videos directly into the editor.
- Use Templates: Explore the available templates to quickly create common document types like meeting agendas, project plans, or proposals.
Collaboration & Sharing
- Invite Collaborators: To share your document with others, click the "Share" button and enter the email addresses of the collaborators you wish to add. You can also control their access permissions (edit, comment, or view only).
- Real-time Collaboration: When multiple people are editing the same document, you can see their changes live and collaborate in real-time.
- Version History: All changes to your document are tracked, so you can review previous versions or restore a document to a previous state if needed.
That's it! You've successfully created your first document in Craft Docs. Explore the features and unleash your creativity!
