Creating and Managing Tasks

Last updated August 26, 2024

Tasks are the building blocks of your projects in Nexus Reform. Understanding how to create, manage, and track tasks is essential for keeping your projects on schedule and ensuring successful completion.

Creating Tasks

  • Navigate to the "Tasks" Section: Within your project, select the "Tasks" tab to access the task management feature.
  • Create a New Task: Click the "Create Task" button.
  • Task Title: Enter a clear and descriptive title for your task. This should clearly communicate what needs to be done.
  • Description: Provide a detailed description of the task, including any necessary context or instructions for the assignee.
  • Assignee: Select the team member who will be responsible for completing the task.
  • Due Date: Set a realistic due date for the task.
  • Priority: Set the priority level of the task (e.g., high, medium, low) to indicate urgency.
  • Add to Existing Milestone (if applicable): If the task is part of a specific milestone, link it to that milestone.
  • Click "Create Task": Save the new task by clicking the "Create Task" button.

Managing Existing Tasks

  • View Task Details: Click on a task to view its details, including the description, assignee, due date, status, and comments.
  • Update Task Status: As the task progresses, update its status to reflect its current completion stage (e.g., "In Progress," "Completed").
  • Reassign Tasks: If needed, you can reassign a task to a different team member.
  • Edit Task Details: You can modify the title, description, due date, priority, and other task details as needed.
  • Add Comments: Leave comments on tasks to provide updates, clarify instructions, or ask questions.
  • Mark as Complete: When a task is finished, mark it as "Complete" to indicate that it is no longer actively being worked on.
  • Filter and Sort: Use the filters and sorting options to easily manage and prioritize your tasks. For example, you can filter by due date, priority, status, or assignee.

Tracking Task Progress

  • Task List Overview: The task list provides a visual representation of the progress of each task, including its status, due date, and priority.
  • Progress Bars: Visual progress bars will appear on tasks that have a completion percentage. This helps to visualize the level of completion for each task.
  • Notifications: You'll receive notifications when tasks are assigned, updated, completed, or commented on. This helps you stay informed about the progress of your project.

By effectively utilizing tasks within Nexus Reform, you can organize, manage, and track project activities with greater precision, ensuring successful project outcomes.
